How the count is defined

Ten days moves the weekday by three
Ten days is a week plus three, so the answer always falls three weekdays later than today: a Monday becomes a Thursday, a Friday becomes a Monday. It is worth knowing before you promise something for "ten days' time", because roughly three in every ten starting days push a ten-day deadline onto a weekend, when nobody is there to receive whatever you owe.
Ten-day notices are usually calendar days
Ten days is a favourite length for a first, short formal notice — a demand to fix or vacate, a payment reminder before a late fee, a deadline to return equipment. Unless the document explicitly says business days or working days, a bare "ten days" means ten calendar days and the weekend counts. If yours does say business days, use the 10 business days from today page instead, which skips Saturdays and Sundays and lands two working weeks out.
What the count does not skip
Nothing is skipped here: weekends and public holidays sit inside the count, which is what a plain day count means in almost every contract, notice and policy. If your deadline is written in working days instead, 10 business days from today skips the weekends and lands later.
The result box still shows how the span divides — how many of the days are Mondays to Fridays and how many are weekend days — because that is usually the real question behind “will this be dealt with in time”. Public holidays are not deducted from that weekday figure.
