How to resize an image

Choose a photo, then pick how you want to resize it. Exact size lets you type a width and height in pixels — keep "Lock aspect ratio" on and the other side fills in automatically so the picture keeps its shape. Percentage shrinks or enlarges the whole image at once (50% is half size). Choose your download format and click download.

What size should a profile picture be? A square image around 400 by 400 pixels looks sharp on most social networks without being a heavy file. Crop to a square first if needed, then set both width and height to 400.

How do I resize to an exact width and height? Choose "Exact size (pixels)" and type the numbers you need. If the new shape differs from the original, turn off "Lock aspect ratio" to use both numbers exactly — though this can stretch the picture. Leave the lock on to keep the original proportions.

Will resizing shrink the file size? Usually yes — fewer pixels means a smaller file. To shrink it even more, download as JPEG or WebP instead of PNG.
