To crop a picture into a circle, choose an image, drag it to position and zoom to scale, then download — the area outside the circle is saved as transparent. The default download is a PNG (which supports transparency), and you can also choose JPG or WebP; 512 pixels suits most profile photos and avatars.

How to crop a picture into a circle
- Click the box to choose an image, or drag one straight in.
- Drag the photo inside the circle to position it, and use the zoom slider (or your scroll wheel) to scale it.
- Pick an output size — 256, 512, or 1024 pixels.
- Click Download PNG to save your circular image.
The corners outside the circle are saved as transparent, so the image drops cleanly onto any background. The result is a PNG, which keeps that transparency; JPEG cannot. A circle crop is perfect for profile pictures, avatars, team headshots, and logos that need a round frame.
Prefer a different shape? You can also rotate or mirror the image, add padding or a border, and fine-tune the position with the arrow keys.

Common circle-crop questions
Why does it download a PNG instead of a JPG? PNG is the default because a round crop needs transparent corners, and JPG cannot store transparency (it would fill those corners with a solid background color). You can still choose JPG or WebP from the Download format menu above.
What size should I use for a profile picture? 512 pixels suits most profile photos and avatars. Use 256 for a small icon or 1024 for a crisp, high-resolution result.
Will it work for Instagram, Zoom, Slack or my website? Yes. The transparent PNG works as an avatar on most platforms and sits cleanly on slides, documents, and web pages.
Can I crop a square photo or a rectangular one? Either works. Drag and zoom to choose which part of the photo lands inside the circle before you download.
Are my images uploaded? No. Everything runs in your browser — your photo is never sent to a server or stored.
