How it works, and what it keeps
This tool converts the content and structure of your document rather than taking a pixel-perfect photograph of Word's layout. That trade-off is deliberate: it means the text in the finished PDF stays real and selectable (you can copy from it and search it), instead of being flattened into an image.
Here is an honest picture of what survives the conversion and what may not:
- Kept: paragraph text, heading levels, bulleted and numbered lists, and images embedded in the document. Text stays selectable and searchable in the PDF.
- Simplified: tables are converted to plain text rows (cells separated by " | "), not a drawn grid. Bold or italic applied to a few words inside a paragraph is not carried through — only whole headings are shown in bold.
- Not reproduced: exact theme fonts (the PDF uses a standard built-in font), multi-column layouts, precise page margins, headers/footers, and page-break positions from Word. Non-Latin alphabets (for example Arabic or Chinese) may not render with the built-in font.
- Note on edits: if the document has tracked changes, the accepted content is converted as though the changes were already applied. Comments are not included in the PDF.
