Have two prices and want to know the discount? Enter the original and the sale price.
How to use the discount calculator
Type the original price, then either tap a discount preset (10%, 20%, 25%, 50%, or 70%) or type your own percent off. The sale price you'll pay appears instantly, along with how much you save — there's no button to press and nothing leaves your device.
Sale price and savings. The calculator takes the percent off the original price to get the amount saved, then subtracts it. A 25% discount on an $80 item saves $20, so the sale price is $60.
Adding sales tax. Enter a tax percent to see the final price. Tax is applied to the discounted price — the way most U.S. stores ring it up — not the original price.
Buying more than one. Set the quantity to see the per-item price and the total for all of them, including total savings.
Everything runs in your browser — the prices you type are never uploaded.
Common questions
How do I calculate a percentage off a price? Multiply the price by the discount percent and divide by 100 to get the amount off, then subtract it from the price. For 25% off $80: 80 × 25 ÷ 100 = $20 off, so the sale price is $60.
How much is 25% off $80? 25% off $80 saves you $20, for a sale price of $60. Enter 80 as the price and tap the 25% preset to see it, including the final price if you add tax.
Is sales tax charged on the discounted price? In most U.S. states, sales tax is charged on the price after the discount, not the original price. This calculator applies tax to the sale price to match how stores ring it up.
How do I find what percent off something is? Use the "Find the percent off" box above: enter the original price and the sale price, and it shows the discount. For example, $80 marked down to $60 is 25% off.
