Text Diff Checker

Paste two versions of any text and instantly see what changed — added lines, removed lines and everything that stayed the same. Compare documents, configs, code snippets or drafts. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Your text is compared on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.

How to compare two texts

Paste the earlier version into Original text and the newer one into Changed text, then press Compare (the result also updates as you type). Lines that were added appear in green with a +, lines that were removed appear in red with a - and a strike-through, and unchanged lines stay plain so you can see them in context.

Use Ignore case when capitalization doesn't matter, and Ignore whitespace when indentation or spacing changes are noise rather than real edits. Swap flips the two sides, and Clear resets both boxes.

Comparison happens entirely in your browser — your text never leaves your device.

Common questions

What kind of text can I compare? Anything line-based — essays and drafts, JSON or config files, log output, code snippets, lists, or CSV rows. The tool compares whole lines, so it's ideal for spotting which lines were inserted, deleted or edited.

Why is a small edit shown as one removed line and one added line? The diff works at the line level: if a line changed at all, the old version is marked removed and the new version added, side by side, so you can see both.

Does it work on phones? Yes. The two boxes stack on small screens and the result scrolls horizontally for long lines.

Is anything saved or uploaded? No. The tool is fully client-side — your text never leaves your browser and nothing is stored.
